An innovative and valuable ceiling design can be seen in the newly opened Bruchköbel townhouse in Hessen. The architects used acoustic lamellas with real wood veneer for the 450 m² event hall. Narrow strips of luminaires fit precisely between the lamellas. The special feature of the acoustically effective elements is hidden inside the lamellas. The lamellas are 45 mm wide and 145 mm high and consist in the core of our aluminium sandwich elements, which are connected with a real wood strip. The side surfaces of the lamellas are coated with micro-perforated real wood veneer of the Perfonet Max Q type. Thanks to the use of our lightweight aluminium construction, the linear meter of lamellas weighs only 1.6 kg. The usual dichotomy of a cooling system with wooden lamellas hanging underneath was eliminated in this project. The acoustic lamellas with cooling effect each have a copper pipe on the inside through which cold water circulates. These lamellas combine the natural wood look with the acoustics and room cooling. This system was developed by the company hb metall + licht in cooperation with the carpentry Holzart, both in Zwingenberg. The company Ceilinx GmbH Stuttgart handled the project with routine.
