Ijhal Amsterdam – Ten years ago, IJhal Amsterdam achieved an optical increase in ceiling height by installing mirror-like Metawell® ceiling elements. The ceiling elements also impress from a technical standpoint, with a weight of only 7.2 kg/m², a fire classification of A2 and an EPD in accordance with DIN EN ISO 14025 Type III and EN 15804. The reflective surface and scattered arrangement give the hall a lively and varied appearance, while the precisely calculated spacing of the elements ensures sufficient acoustic absorption.
A total of 5,900 m² of Metawell® ‘bright mirror’ was delivered on 1,500 elements in 19 shapes. Installation was quick and easy thanks to the lightweight components.
Ten years on, the fascination remains. The surface still looks like new, and the mirror effect continues to delight visitors and users alike. A durable project that is both aesthetically and functionally impressive. Anyone visiting Amsterdam should definitely take a look at the IJhal.
