Outdoor applications

Metawell® is suitable for outdoor use – particularly for external cladding and housing covers

Curved and flat ceiling elements

Metawell® is ideal for use in ceiling structures – wherever lightness, stability and design flexibility are required.

  • Lightweight: High rigidity combined with minimal weight allows for use with just a few fixing points. Components can be assembled quickly and efficiently

Floors (sound-absorbing and, where applicable, underfloor heating)

Metawell® floor panels have been specially developed to meet the demanding requirements of rail vehicle construction. They combine maximum load-bearing capacity with low weight, thereby enabling the construction of efficient and durable vehicles.

  • High load-bearing capacity: Withstands heavy distributed and concentrated loads – mounting points for handrails or similar components can be integrated
  • Durability: Due to the high level of corrosion protection

Air ducts for rail vehicles

Metawell® can be used in the manufacture of air conditioning ducts – that is, air distribution systems which ensure the even distribution of supply and exhaust air in rail vehicles.

  • Low weight: Enables the manufacture of large-scale duct components with minimal dead weight
  • High rigidity: Thanks to the sturdy sandwich structure, there is no need for additional stiffeners. Furthermore, the number of fixing points can be reduced. This allows for quick and cost-effective assembly
  • Efficient airflow: The design and precision manufacturing ensure optimum airflow characteristics and quiet operation

Partition walls

Thanks to its lightweight construction, Metawell® is ideal for partition walls and compartment doors in rail vehicle manufacturing – particularly where strict weight requirements and high safety standards must be met.

  • Certified fire protection: EN 45545 HL3
  • Functionality: Cables can be integrated into the cable duct
  • Surface finish: Also available with a powder-coated finish on request – for a more uniform surface with improved scratch resistance and resistance to cleaning products

The entrance areas of rail vehicles must be able to withstand exceptional stresses – extremely high cyclic loads, the effects of the weather and contact with corrosive substances such as road salt are commonplace here.
