Ship furniture
Metawell® products are ideal for the construction of ship furniture. The processing is very similar to wood materials and can therefore be done with common tools for wood working. The high bending stiffness leads to extremely light furniture. Surfaces can be painted, printed or laminated with decorative HPL.
The drawings below show a variant of a construction option. For the “basic framework“ of the furniture, a panel is provided with two V-grooves, which are then (possible also on board) folded by bending over. The shelves can be easily realized with a plug connection. Furthermore hinges can be inserted directly into the panels. Open edges can be closed with a lipping.

Balcony partition
Metawell® is also used as a balcony partition. The high flexural stiffnes s, the use of the 5000 series aluminium alloys and the additional corrosion protection by the primer, which is also applied to the core material, allows exterior applications, as well. The end profiles are not arranged across to prevent crevice corrossion.
