| Cooled water runs through the copper pipes of the Metawell® cooling ceiling elements. This water is kept at a temperature of approx. 16°C by a heat exchanger in a closed circuit. According to the setting, the bearing plate thus reaches surface temperatures between 20°C and 23°C.
Due to the high heat carrying capacity of water, the cooling is transported to the rooms and efficiently passed into the rooms by the good heat conductors copper and aluminium.
Metawell® cooling ceiling elements have a very high cooling performance. Thus even with a high heat burden only partial covering of the ceiling area with cooling elements is necessary.

Metawell® cooling ceiling elements weigh only approximately 6 kg/sqrm and are available in sizes of up to 5 m in length and 1.5 m in width. The use of large-size and light Metawell® cooling ceiling elements does not only permit rapid installation but also economic operation as only few suspension points and pipe connectors are needed.
While in the case of new buildings usually closed cooling ceilings are installed, the application of single cooling plates is preferred in the case of retrofitting. These differ from closed cooling ceilings by the fact that they are suspended under the room ceiling in the form of individual plates. The low component height of Metawell® cooling ceiling elements requires only little room height. |
