Radiant ceilings

Parkstadt Schwabing
Both well-being and the performance of every person is greatly influenced by the quality of the ambient climate of the room.

Conventional air-conditioning systems can hardly continue to fulfil the increased requirements on well-being in modern offices with their multitude of heat sources such as computers, printers, copying machines, lighting etc. as the great volumes of air current needed for cooling are felt to be very unpleasant.

Cooling ceilings, however, mainly work by exchange of radiated heat.

For this purpose the temperature of the cooling ceiling element, through which water flows, is reduced to several degrees under the room temperature in order to initiate the thermal radiation between the cooled ceiling and the sources of heat in the room.

As the necessary room ventilation with fresh air no longer has a cooling function, the volume of air flow can be reduced to a minimum. Drafts or even ventilation and fan noises are no longer perceptible and well-being and personal performance are increased.

Every individual cooling element can be adjusted to the requirements of the place of work. Places at windows, sources of heat, density of persons, unused areas of the room etc. can be taken into consideration for the creation of the desired room climate not only when putting the units into operation but also in the course of later years.

Thanks to air dehumidifiers, dew point sensors, regulating valves and hydrophilic coatings, cooling ceilings can be employed today even in areas with high temperatures and high air humidity.
