Energy savings, light construction and recycability are the decisive demands of modern automobile engineering. Metawell^® as an innovative material allows to consequently meet these requirements in various fields of applications.

Special material characteristics

The aluminium lightweight panel Metawell^® is particularly suited for surface applications which have to be light but very rigid. In comparison with solid aluminium sheets of the same rigidity Metawell^® allows for a weight reduction of about 65%.

It rarely happens that the material requested must show absolutely the same features in any direction. Mostly stress is applied only in one direction. Here any isotropic material would be over-designed and additionally unnecessarily heavy. It is exactly this fact that Metawell^® uses advantageously by its specific structure with a corrugation as core material that makes for a directive stiffening.

Recycling

The core of Metawell^® panels consists out of the same metal as the cover sheets. Thus even with the "EU -old vehicle regulation" Metawell^® can be recylced without separation of materials.

Development / construction

Any light construction must also be technically-economically appropriate.
